Is There Unclaimed Money In Your Name?

Unclaimed cash is money, funds or other assets that a rightful owner has not claimed after a designated period of time. Money owed to individuals for items such as insurance payments or refunds, certificates of deposit or customer overpayment are required by law to be turned over to the state if the individual who is owed can not be contacted or has no activity. The money does not disappear. Each state must keep a record of it so that the owed individuals have the opportunity to claim it. There is currently over 58 billion dollars in unclaimed cash and assets in the United States.
